General Questions

Why is my computer slow?

Computer slowness can be contributed to a variety of factors. A common misconception is that storing a large amount of files can slow a computer down, this simply isn’t true! With real world industry experience, we can recommend a repair or reconfiguration to get your laptop, PC or portable device running as good or better than before!

How do I extend my wireless internet?

There are four main ways to extend internet. Listed in order of ‘best’ service; Wireless Repeaters, Power line Extenders, Mesh Networking, and extension via Ethernet cable. Our experts can implement the best solution for your situation and budget.

What kind of parts do you use for repairs/consultations?

We only use 100% genuine, high quality parts and devices when possible. If original parts are not available, or outside of your budget, we are happy to suggest alternatives.

On site Support Questions

Is there a different rate for commercial and residential customers?

No, we believe our time is equal value for any client. Our services are happily provided at the same cost to both residential and business clients, with bulk opportunities available for any client.

My question won't take much time, how can I add value to my hour consultation?

Our experienced technicians will assess your entire setup in diagnosis of your problem and advise direction when fixing other issues in order to better maintain/setup your machine. We always suggest a list of questions be prepared for any on site visit to fill the time.

My device is in warranty, can you still assist?

For Apple devices, AF Smith is the authorized service center for warranty repairs on Apple devices. We are happy to handle this process for our clients free of charge.

For windows and other portable devices, we will provide advice as necessary.

Can I reschedule or change my appointment after booking?

Our scheduling system handles rescheduling and booking, feel free to check your email and access the booking system to make any changes to your scheduled appointment.

Liquid Damage Service

What should I do if my device falls in water or another liquid?

Do not turn on your device. Your best bet is to sit the device in an absorbent substance such as rice, or  packets designed specifically for liquid damage.

My device was water damaged and now everything seems to work fine except for one function, should I repair the device?

Our suggestion is no. Any device we deem as ‘water damaged’ will require a disclaimer for service as we believe you are better suited to purchase a new device.

Will you perform repairs on water damaged devices?

Provided the customer accepts liability we are willing to make an exception against our best advice.

Can I purchase parts for service from Prime Consultants Ltd.?

We’re always happy to sell our parts to other technicians to repair devices at the same price we charge our customers. No questions, no hassle. We encourage device repair by individuals and consultants.
